The 98th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is here, bringing joy, music, and dazzling new floats to New York City to kick off the holiday season!

This year’s event will feature:

  • 17 giant character balloons
  • 22 floats
  • 15 heritage and novelty inflatables
  • 11 marching bands
  • 10 musical performance groups
  • Over 700 clowns



With over 3.5 million spectators expected in New York City and 50+ million viewers tuning in at home, this cherished tradition wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of thousands of volunteers.
“Today” show hosts Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, and Al Roker will once again lead the festivities.


When Is the Parade?

The parade takes place on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 28, 2024.

  • Time: 8:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m. in all time zones
  • Encore broadcast: 2:00 p.m. ET/PT

Parade Route and Viewing Tips

The 2.5-mile route starts at West 77th Street and Central Park West and concludes at Macy’s Herald Square. Key landmarks include:

In-person Viewing Tips:

  • Arrive by 6:00 a.m. for prime spots.
  • Avoid Sixth Avenue between 34th–38th Streets and West 34th Street between Sixth–Seventh Avenues due to limited visibility from national broadcasts.
